Maudie Walker Grubbs, 92, of Dexter, MO, died Oct. 6, 2003, at the Crowley Ridge Care Center.
Born Jan. 17, 1911, in Dexter, daughter of the late Frank and Lora Bean Bell, she lived in Detroit and Rochester, MI, and Grayridge, MO before moving to Dexter in 1987. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Utica, MI.
Her first husband, James R. Walker, preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1969. On March 21, 1991, she married Oakley R. Grubbs who died March 14, 1999.
Survivors include: one sister Audie Burnett McGhee; and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Johnnie Bell, Walter Bell and Earl Bell; and one sister, Mary Mabee.
Visitation was at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Graveside services were conducted at the Dexter Cemetery with the Rev. Dennis Ward of Essex officiating.
Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter was in charge of arrangements.
