NEMOURS — Sherman W. Bell, Sr., 68, of P.O. Box 92, Nemours, died on Friday, January 11, 2008 in a Bluefield hospital.
Born on July 3, 1939 in Coopers, he was a son of the late Lewis Eugene and Edna May Horton Bell. He had been a resident of Nemours for five years and was of the Protestant faith. He was a disabled coal miner and had worked 14 years in the mines.
Survivors include: wife: Cynthia Carver Bell of the home; two sons: Rodney Bell and wife Aline of Crestwood, Ky., Sherman Bell, Jr. of New Mexico; two stepsons: Donald White, Jr. and wife Charlotte of Florida, Raymond "Buzzy" Stillwell of Bluewell; two stepdaughters: Sherry Fisher and husband Frankie of Nemours, Sandra Riffe of Coalwood; grandchildren: Sherman Wayne Bell, III, Brandy Bell, Mark Anthony Bell; stepgrandchildren: Shaine, Heather and Misty, Chera and Seanna; eight stepgreat-grandchildren, four sisters: Anita Costina of Hollywood, Fla., Barbara Wagner of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Carolyn Graham of Poch Mtn, S.C., Marilyn Bowman of Bramwell; brothers: Jimmy Bell of Groton, Conn., Ervin Bell of Bluefield, Gary Bell of Freeman.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with the Rev. Marty Furrow and Minister Paul Delida officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Bluewell with Randy Gibson, Mike Garland, Mike Pitzner, Sr., Fred Graham, Jr., Zackery Bowman, and Paul Crockett serving as pallbearers.
Friends may call on Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
