Mr. Bell was born on Sept. 13, 1929 in Coopers, to the late James W. Bell and Ella Horton Bell. Mr. Bell had been a resident of Coopers most of his life, was a tree trimmer and factory worker and was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, James W. 'Hank' Bell Jr., Leonard, Robert and Harold Bell; and three nephews, Larry and David Adams and Steve Bell.
Survivors include: Brothers, William Bell and wife Fern of Nemours, Max Bell of Coopers; sister, Elizabeth Adams and husband Roger of Brushfork; sister-in-law, Kathleen Bell of Bluefield; nieces, Kathy Samson of Knoxville, Tenn., Terry Sink of Burlington, N.C., Sheila Summers of Burlington, Carolyn Bell of Bluefield, Brenda Hager of Bluefield; nephews, Tommy Bell of Nemours, Dennis Bell of Nemours.
Graveside rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. today at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Bluewell with the Rev. Bill Davis officiating and where family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Those attending the graveside rites are asked to meet at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell today by 1:45 p.m.
