"Hank" Bell Jr., 77, of 824 Harry St., Bluefield, died Friday, Sept. 17, 1999, at Bluefield Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 8, 1921, in Freeman, he was a son of the late James W. Bell and Ella Mae Horton Bell. He had been a resident of Bluefield for 50 years and was a retired accountant for General Tire, Bluefield. He had also worked in the coal mines and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ where he was the chairman of the Missions and Benevolent Funds. He was preceded in death by one sister, Helen Bell; three brothers, Robert, Harold and Leonard Bell; and three nephews, Larry Adams, David Adams and Steve Bell. Survivors include his wife, Kathleen L. Carrier Bell of Harry Street, Bluefield; daughters, Carolyn Bell and Brenda Hager and husband Steve of Bluefield; brothers, William Bell of Nemours, Max Bell of Bramwell and Richard Bell of Bluefield; sisters, Mrs. Roger (Elizabeth) Adams of Bluefield; nephews, Tommy Bell and Dennis Bell, both of both of Burlington. N.C. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at the Cravens Shires Funeral Home Chapel, Bluewell,, with Minister Randy Thieman officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluewell. Pallbearers will be members of Pine Grove Church of Christ. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.
