Daniel Curtis Belgarde, age 53, of Belcourt, North Dakota passed away on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 near Belcourt, North Dakota.

Visitation began at 6pm on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Belcourt, North Dakota with a Rosary service at 8pm led by Carson Belgarde.

Funeral mass was held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 10am in the church with Fr. Dennis Mary Dugan presiding. Burial followed in the Church cemetery. Casket bearers were Conway LaRocque, Mac, Leo, Timmy, and Angelo Belgarde, and Dennis "Badger" DeMontigny. Honorary bearers were all family and friends. Special music was performed by Troy DeCoteau. Eucharistic Gifts were presented by Sha'lee Belgarde and Stephanie LaRocque. Readers were Carson Belgarde and Cheryl Blue-Wawryk.

Daniel Curtis "Danny Boy" Belgarde was born on January 6, 1960 in Minot, North Dakota to Francis "Buddy" and Shania "Vi" (Belgarde) Belgarde. He was educated in the San Francisco School District. He later joined the Army National Guard and received an honorable discharge. He worked as a professional roofer in and around Seattle, Washington area and eventually making his way to North Dakota working as a carpenter for the Turtle Mountain Tribe. He was also a mechanic and handyman.

Settling down with Valerie Wilkie, together they had two children, a daughter, Sha'lee and a son, Kaleb. He also had a son, Angelo and a daughter, Paula Lynn from a previous relationship. Danny was an incredible man and a wonderful father to his children. He loved being outdoors exploring nature, playing, or just having fun with his children. He enjoyed doing native arts and crafts, tinkering with electronics, and working on cars. He will be greatly missed by many.

Daniel is survived by his companion, Valerie Wilkie of Belcourt; children, Sha'lee and Kaleb Belgarde, both of Belcourt, Angelo Belgarde, and Paula Lynn Levy-Bearchild, both of Seattle, WA; three grandchildren: Tallon, Elijah, and Roberto; mother, Shania "Vi" Belgarde of Seattle, WA. and siblings: Leonard, Leo, Mac, and Timmy Belgarde, and Tami Belgarde, all of Seattle, WA. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Micky Belgarde.

Arrangements were with Elick Funeral Home, Rolla, ND.
