Charles Ransom Belcher, 84, of Patoka, formerly of Clinton, died 4:50 p.m. Saturday (April 11, 1987) in St. Mary's Hospital, Centralia.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Cox-Martin-Day Funeral Home, Patoka, with vistitation 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Pratt Cemetery, Patoka.
Mr. Belcher was born in Patoka, son of Frazier O. and Nora W. Belcher. He was retired from Illinois Central Railroad and had worked as a salesman for Ralston-Purina Co. in the Decatur office. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He married Minnie Brown in 1927.
Surviving are his son, Charles W. of Butternut, WI.; daughter, Katheryn Barnes of Patoka; brother, Georgw W. Goodin of Keyesport; sisters, Lucille Wood of Keyesport; Alice Logue and Maude Heather, both of Patoka; Nell Logue of Alma; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.
Two sisters preceded him in death.
