Jerry Belcher, age 72, of Hobbs, NM passed away June 20, 2008, at Nor-Lea Hospital in Lovington, NM.
He was born August 16, 1935, in Rogers, NM. Jerry's work was one of the most important things in life. He loved his family and enjoyed restoring old tractors.
Jerry is survived by a daughter, Kyna Belcher of Hobbs, NM; five brothers, Harold Belcher of Rogers, NM, Richard Belcher of Moriarity, NM, Nathan Belcher of Dora, NM, Tex Belcher of Portales, NM, and Lloyd Belcher of Houston, TX; one sister, LaDoris Allison of Portales, NM and his special friend and dog, Buddy.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Oren; Texas Ola Webb Belcher and his wife, Mary Belcher.
The Belcher family would like to send a special "Thank You" to Vista Care Hospice, David Camp, Tammy Copeland, Dr. Neumann of Lubbock, TX, Roxanne Pollack, Debbie Vale, Nate Coudding and Don Cook, Rita and Jerry McCurter and Josie Windham.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Hope. Graveside services will be held at 4:30 p.m. at Inez Cemetery in Inez, NM. The VFW Honor Guard will hold the graveside service. Mr. Belcher will be in state Monday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Tuesday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at the Chapel of Hope.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, Austin, TX.
