Munjor -- Fidelis J. Befort, 84, died Dec. 14 at St. Anthony Hospital, Hays. He was born Dec. 21, 1900 in Munjor to Joseph and Gertrude (Rohr) Befort.

He married Philomena Doerfler April 12, 1921 in Munjor.

He was a retired farmer and worked for the ASC for 35 years. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and the Schoenchen Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, Gerald of Hays, Glenn of Austin, Texas, Alvin Doerfler of Highland, Ind.; two daughters, Martina Schmidtberger of Victoria, Bertina Urban of Osborne; two sisters, Margaret Leiker of Hays, Barbara Urban of Denver; 18 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Catholic Church with Fathers Vincent Rohr, Owen Schellhase and Earl Befort officiating; burial in the church cemetery. A Daughters of Isabella rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a parish wake service at 8 and then a Knights of Columbus Rosary, all at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Brock's.
