Obituary of Mrs. Barney Bryant ( Julia Etta Beers Bryant)
Julia Etta Beers was born near Rochelle, Ill, July 14 th, 1860, and was departed this life at her home in Fairfield, Neb., on September 7th, 1941, at the age of eighty-one years, one month, and twenty-one days. She was married to Barney B. Bryant in Oregon, Ill., on November 5th, 1879, and came to Clay county, Nebr., in May 1885, settling on a farm near Fairfield.
To this union, twelve children were born, six sons and six daughters, all of whom are living except one daughter, Nellie Bayles, who passed away on December 30th, 1938.
Those left to mourn her departure are her husband and the following children: Cullen of Miami, Fla., Arthur and Barney Jr., of Topeka, Kans., Walter of Leavenworth, Kans., Charles of Silver City, New Mex., Robert of Ajo, Ariz., Dolly Lewis of Los Angeles, Calif., Estella Robare of Oakland, Calif., Etta Wheeler of Grand Island, Nebr., Emma Frank of Harvard, Nebr., Alberta Gaskell of Miami, Fla., Also surviving is sister, Ella Huhr, of Rochelle, Ill., and the twenty-eight grand-children, sixteen great grand-children, besides numerous other relatives and friends.
She became a member of the Baptist Church when a girl and after coming to Nebraska transferred her membership to the Methodist church, but has been unable to attend for several years on account of failing health.
She was a loving mother and will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral will be held at the Methodist- Congregational this afternoon (Thursday) at 2:30 p.m. with Rev. F. L. Harris in charge . The six sons will act as pallbearers. Burial will be in Fairfield cemetery.
All the children will be present. Other out -of -town relatives are Mrs. Ella Huhr, Rochelle, Ill., Mrs. Mary Pritchard, Rochelle, Ill., Mr. George Bayles, Pinos Altos, New Mes., Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Gingrich, Omaha, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Powell, Grand Island, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mensen, Glenville, Nebr.
