A memorial gathering for former McMinnville resident Margaret "Maggie" Bachman of Salem will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. June 23 in the Salemtowne Hall, Salem. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Bachman died June 10, 2002, in St. Vincent Hospital, Portland. She was 80.
She was born April 10, 1922, in Portland, the daughter of George and Alice Fisher Beers. She was raised and educated in Burlingame, Calif.
She later lived in Saratoga, Calif., and worked as a bookkeeper in Saratoga City Hall. She moved to McMinnville in 1960.
She and Franklin C. Bachman were married June 24, 1960.
While a McMinnville resident, she worked in the McMinnville Public Library. She had lived in Salem since 1968. She loved sewing, gardening and reading.
Survivors include two daughters, Patti Pavelich of McMinnville and Cathie Head of Salem; a son, Chuck Bachman of Salem; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968.
