She was born Aug. 10, 1918 to Vernon John and Rhea Elizabeth Naylor Beers in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Florence was edu-cated in Salt Lake City, graduating from East High School and the University of Utah. While at the Uni-versity, she began her lifelong career as an employee of the University Book Store where she retired as manager of the book department. She was an active member of the Bryan Ward, Sugarhouse Stake of the LDS Church where she served in many positions including Ward and Stake YWMIA, single adults and extraction worker. She was a member of the Olympus Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA).
She is survived by her sister, Emily (Oswald) Wilde; nephews, Todd B. (Diane) and Vern B. (Vicki) Wilde and a niece, LuRhea B. Wilde; four great-nephews and four great-nieces.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2000 at 12 noon at the Sugarhouse Stake Center, 1621 South 1100 East. Friends may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the ward one hour prior to services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
