Mary, also known by many as Ba, passed away at Providence St. Peter Hospital on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at the age of 74 after a 9 month battle with leukemia. Mary was born on July 28, 1931 in Porter, Washington to Maurice and Frances (Kinnaman) Boyer.

She married Dale Beerbower, who resides at the family home, in August of 1953. Mary graduated from Elma High School in 1949, then attended Grays Harbor College. Mary worked as a bank teller and secretary for many years before touching many young lives as a secretary for the Elma Elementary School.

Mary's interests included painting, watching her grandchildren perform sports, and singing with her family members. In her youth, she was a member of the Porter Ramblers. She was a member of the Porter Sunday School her entire life where she was a teacher, prayer leader, and piano player.

She is survived by her children and their families, Jim Beerbower and his wife Cathy, of Elma and Debbie Hill and her husband John, of Shelton; six grandchildren Jenny, Brad, and Brian Beerbower, Jonathan, Eric, and Marissa Hill. Mary is also survived by her brothers Calvin, Quentin, and Richard Boyer. One brother, Bob, preceded her death.

Funeral services are scheduled for 3 pm on Tuesday, March 28th at Grays Harbor Fairgrounds Pavilion. A graveside at the Elma Masonic cemetery is scheduled following the funeral service. Following the graveside, a memorial pot luck dinner is scheduled at the Elma Elementary cafeteria. A ringing of the church bell will take place at the Porter Sunday School that evening in Mary's (Ba's) honor.

Mary had wanted to walk in the East Grays Harbor American Cancer Society Relay for Life in June. Her family will be gathering a team in her honor. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society and sent to 122 Porter Creek Rd., Elma, WA 98541 for Ba's Brigade towards fighting cancer.
