Jean Wright (J.W.) Beeler, age 86, of Altus, formerly of the Huntsville, Texas area, passed away early Friday morning, May 22, 2015, at the Edmond Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Edmond.

Mr. Beeler was born in Harris County, Texas on August 30, 1928, to Jesse Arleigh and Wilma Venice (Lomax) Beeler. After graduation from high school, J.W. moved to the Huntsville area to the family’s farm and ranch. In 1947, he married Carolyn (Steffey) Gaines and she preceded him in death. On September 17, 2001, he married Patsy Ruth (Steffey) Terrell. Throughout all his life, J.W. was a hard-working, successful businessman who was a residential and commercial building contractor. Later in life, J.W. worked as a jobber for the Alaskan Railroad. In 2014, he moved to Altus, due to failing health.

Preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Carolyn, and one brother, he is survived by his wife Patsy Ruth Beeler, of Altus; two children, Candace Templet and William “Bill” Gaines Beeler; one granddaughter, Amy, along with many other relatives and a host of friends.

In keeping with J.W.’s wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory. A private family service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
