Thomas Lawson Beecher 1873-1938
Thomas Lawson Beecher was born January 18, 1873 in Kirksville, Adair county, Missouri, the first born child to Henry Ward Beecher and Margaret (Wilson) Beecher.
His elven siblings include; Thomas Lawson Beecher, Jessie Anna (Beecher) Cowles, Harry Francis Beecher, James Oral Beecher, Edna May (Beecher) Frink, Mary Etta (Beecher) Johnson Mathew, Elenora Zweifel, Elsie Clorice (Beecher) Stanley, Lelia Merta (Beecher) Davis and Margaret Jenett "Maggie" (Beecher) Davis.
Shortly after his birth, his parents journeyed from Missouri to Union county, Oregon, where they settled in the town of Silver Lake for two years and then continued on to Alder Slope, outside the town of Enterprise, in Wallowa county, Oregon by the fall of 1880.
Thomas married Mary Bertha Mitchell on May 16, 1909 in Wallowa county, Oregon. She was the daughter of John William Mitchell and Sarah Ann (Humphreys) Mitchell. They had no children.
The couple moved to Imnaha shortly after their marriage and operated a cattle ranch for two years before selling out and returning to the town of Enterprise.
Thomas' wife passed away in 1914, at the age of 34.
Two years later, Thomas married Lula E. "Lucy" Edwards on June 27, 1916 in Wallowa county, Oregon.
Thomas passed away September 3, 1938 in Enterprise, Wallowa county, Oregon and he was laid to rest in the Alder Slope Cemetery, on Alder Slope, outside the town of Enterprise, in Wallowa county, Oregon.
