Clifford Edwin "Eddie" Beecham Jr., age 70 passed away at 10:37 am Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Via Christi Hospital, Pittsburg, KS following an illness.
Mr Beecham was born November 29, 1941 in Cherokee County, Kansas. His parents were Clifford Edwin and Elizabeth Keith Beecham.
He had lived in Opolis since 1971, and was a lifetime resident of Cherokee County KS.
He worked several years as a brick maker at Acme Brick Company, Weir, KS. He had later worked at International Paper Company, Pittsburg, KS.
He served in the U S Army from 1963- 66. He was a member of the American Legion Post 272, Pittsburg, KS; the United States Bowling Congress, Crawford County KS, and the Black Diamond Masonic Lodge #274, Weir, KS.
He is survived by two brothers Ralph Beecham and wife, Dori, Springfield, MO, and Ron Beecham and wife Connie, Columbus, KS; three sisters, Connie Egbert and husband, Danny, McCune, KS. Linda Beecham, Phoenix, AZ and Patty Crane and husband, John, Phoenix, AZ; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Stan Beecham, one sister, Barbara Beecham and one nephew, Robert Beecham.
Masonic services will be at 7:00 pm, Monday, August 7, 2012 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. The family will receive friends following the Masonic rites until 8:00 pm.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Derfelt Funeral Home, Columbus, KS. Dennis Johnson will officiate. Burial will be at Edgmand Cemetery rural Columbus, KS. Military rites will be conducted by the VFW Post #704 Parsons, KS.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Crawford County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
