A graveside service will be held for Vernon A. Beebe, 81, of Allegany at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Ocean View Memory Gardens in Coos Bay. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at North Bend Chapel , 2014 McPherson Ave.

Vernon was born March 4, 1931, in North Bend, the son of George and Margaret (Ramsey) Beebe. He died Aug. 1, 2012, in Coos Bay.

Vernon grew up in Charleston where he attended grade school and graduated fron North Bend High School. He played football and was very good at it.

In 1951 he married Doris Whitney and they were married for 61 years. Verrnon worked at Scott paper mill in Empire for 20 years and then became a longshoreman until he retired, he was always a good provider.

Vernon liked hunting and fishing, but his favorite thing was dancing. He loved his family especially his daughter. He will be greatly missed.

Vernon is survivied by his wife, Doris; daughter, Susanne, 3 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
