Waldo E. Beebe, 80, 510 Riverside, a retired Muncie abstractor, died Friday at Ball Hospital after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Beebe was born near Oil City, Pa., and moved to Muncie as a child with his parents, Charles and Mable Bond Beebe. He graduated from Muncie High School and attended DePauw University where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
Mr. Beebe was associated with his father-in-law, Calvin Faris, in the Faris Abstract Company until Mr. Faris' death, then the firm became known as Beebe Title Company. He remained active in the company until his retirement.
He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and deacon, and the Muncie Kiwanis Club, Muncie Lodge 433, F.and A.M.; Chapter, Council and Commandery, Beta Theta Pi Alumni Association and the Muncie Board of Realtors.
Mr. Beebe was also a past chairman of the Salvation Army Board, and was a former board member of the Muncie Chamber of Commerce, Boy Scouts, and Beech Grove Cemetery Association. He was an honorary member of the Indiana Land Title Association and at one time served on Delaware County Plan Commission.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Faris Beebe; a daughter; two sons;
Services for Mr. Beebe will be in the First United Presbyterian Church Sanctuary at 2 p.m. Monday with Dr. Laurence A. Martin, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge. The family will receive friends in the church lounge an hour before services.
