On Oct 20, 1842 upon his death, Edward Brantley willed a slave girl named Delsa to his daughter Rhoda Brantley Ely Bedgood.
Delsa, also known as Dilcie spent her life with Rhoda, helping to care for her family.
When the war legally freed Dilcie, she chose to remain with her Bedgood family.
Dilcie is buried in the Bedgood Family Cemetery with Rhoda and her family and was considered a cornerstone of the family.
