BENJAMIN L. BEDELL.
Benjamin L. Bedell, brother of S. Coles Bedell of Fulton street, this village, died at York Beach, Me., on Sunday last, from Brights disease. Deceased was born in Hempstead in 1827, being a son of B. Lester and Hannah Bedell. At the age of 22 years he married Miss Susan Overheiser, daughter of Abram Overheiser, and soon after moved to New York. After living there about two years, he moved to Brooklyn, where he has since made his home. In May of this year, Mr. Bedell went to York Beach, Me., to spend the summer in the hope that the change would improve his health, having been ailing for three years past with Bright's disease. He did not improve, growing gradually worse and resulting in death. Deceased was a devout Methodist in religion being a member of the DeKalb Avenue Church, Brooklyn, for 20 years, of which he was a trustee, steward and Sabbath school teacher. In business he was for 20 years connected with the National City Bank in Brooklyn. He is survived by the widow and two sons, William of San Francisco, Cal., and Charles L. of Brooklyn.
The funeral was held this afternoon in the Methodist Church. Interment was in Greenfield Cemetery.
