Death: Feb. 15, 1922

Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in the Union Army in the 34th New York Battery. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for action on May 18, 1864 at Spotsylvania, Virginia. His citation reads "Brought his guidon off in safety under a heavy fire of musketry after he had lost it by his horse becoming furious from the bursting of a shell." (bio by: Don Morfe)
