Services for Hazel Becton, 88, of Idalou will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 12, at Idalou United Methodist Church with the Rev. James Willborn officiating. Burial will be in Becton Cemetery under direction of Adams Funeral Home of Lorenzo.

She died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2004, at University Medical Center in Lubbock. She was born Feb. 21, 1915, to J.T. and Rose Whitfield Lawson in Seagoville, Texas. She moved to Becton in 1938 from Liberty and on June 5 of that year she married William Bryant Becton in the parsonage of the Methodist Church in Becton. She attended Texas Tech University and taught school in Liberty and Becton. She was a member of Idalou United Methodist Church and was a member of Becton Methodist Church for many years. Over the past six years she had lived at Ventura Place, Autumn House and Quail Ridge homes. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul.

Survivors include a son, Ute Becton of Idalou; a daughter, LaJuana Sexton of Flower Mound; a b rother, Johnny Lawson of Lubbock; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
