Mrs. Emma Ruth Beckom passed away Monday, September 26, 2011, at her home in De Kalb, Texas. She was 78.

Emma was born April 7, 1933. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Norma Satterwhite; her husband, George Ellis Beckom; two brothers, John Oliver and J.W. Satterwhite; and two sisters, Rose Marie Harmon and Louise Bailey.

She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Spigner of Wake Village, Texas and Kathy Beckom of Texarkana, Texas; two sisters, Mary Jones of De Kalb, Texas and Nadene Cellum of Clarksville, Texas; 5 grandchildren, Ricky Beckom of Texarkana, Texas, Tameka Satterwhite of Texarkana, Texas, Greg Beckom of Texarkana, Texas, Antoinette Hayden and her husband, Dwayne of Wake Village, Texas, and Kimberly Cheathem and her husband, Monta of Texarkana, Texas; and 4 great grandchildren.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 8, 2011 at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Delphin Germany and Rev. Andre Richardson officiating. Interment will follow at De Kalb Cemetery.
