Graveside services for Charles F. Beckmeyer, 76, of Lamesa, will be held on Monday, September 13, 2010, at 10 a.m., at Lamesa Memorial Park with Ben Phipps officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 12, 2010, from 3 to 5 p.m., at Branon Funeral Home in Lamesa.

Charles died on Thursday, September 9, 2010 in Lamesa.

He was born on April 1, 1934 in Ackerly to Louise (Vinkhouse) and Fred W. Beckmeyer. He married Lovetta Greaves on July 5, 2001 in Lamesa.

Charles was a member at the First Methodist Church in Ackerly. He worked as a salesman for Massey Ferguson, also known as Cox Implement. He also was employed as a parts manager by Bray Implement. Charles served as a volunteer firefighter in Lamesa and Welch. He enjoyed working on classic cars and attending car shows. He was a member of a car club called the Big Spring Chapter of AACA. Charles enjoyed watching baseball and Sunday afternoon football.

He is survived by his wife, Lovetta Beckmeyer of Lamesa; children, Jim Beckmeyer of Lamesa and Susie Roberts and husband, Micky, of Welch; stepchildren, Connie Chisum and husband, Z.R., of Jayton, and Diane Smith and husband, Kirk, of Lubbock; sister, Bea Lee of Lubbock; grandchildren, Carla Beckmeyer of Idalou, Monica Gooch and husband, Jeremy, of Lubbock, Levi Roberts and wife, Nicole, of Welch, Kelcie Roberts of Lubbock, Russ Shortes of Round Rock, Danae Shortes of Lubbock, Erica Jackson and husband, Gabriel, of Midland, Dana Kim and husband, Loris, of Paris, France, Kelsi Marshall and husband, Tyler, of Lubbock; great-grandchildren, Shawn McCoy, Blake McCoy, and Miley Gooch, all of Lubbock, Tripp Roberts of Welch, Victoria Jackson and Archer Jackson, both of Midland.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

The family suggests memorials to Compass Hospice, 1003 E. FM 700, Big Spring, TX 79720.
