Frank Henry Beckmann, 83, died on October 12, 1905. in Louisville, Kentucky.

He was born in January 1822, in Osnabrück, Stadtkreis Osnabrück, Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), Germany, the son of Frederick Ferdinand Beckmann and Anne Marie Schluter.

He immigrated to the United States in 1849, arriving in New Orleans from Bremen aboard the Royal Victoria, receiving his citizenship in 1854 in Louisville, KY.

Frank and Maria Johanna Detmer were married on February 22, 1852, at Saint Boniface Church, Louisville.

The parents of Frank Henry were Frederick Ferdinand Beckmann and Anne Marie Schluter (research by Irvin T. Diemer II, a descendant).

On 16 May 1866 Frank bought 33 acres from Dr. E.D. Standiford on present-day Durrett Lane. Dr. Standiford's farm was across Preston Street Road where the airport is located today.

The Beckmann's were Catholic and attended St. Vincent DePaul Church and were truck gardeners.

With Maria deceased, he sold 20 acres of his land and was in process of building himself a house on the remaining acreage when he died.

Frank and Maria had ten children that lived to adulthood.
