Dick John Beckman, 58, of Hettinger, ND passed away at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, ND on November 18, 2009

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 22, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Evanson Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger.

DICK JOHN BECKMAN was born on February 4, 1951, in Hettinger, ND to Albert and Florence (Olson) Beckman. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Hettinger, ND. Dick graduated from Hettinger High School in 1968 and began working as a carpenter with his brother, even traveling and working in California. Dick moved back to North Dakota after a few years and worked odd jobs and helped his family with the farming. He was united in marriage to Barb Thomerson and they had a daughter, Evonne.

Dick worked for Adams County for a time and after his father's death, he began caring for his mother, which he did faithfully until his death. He enjoyed collecting stamps, sports and growing a big garden and selling the produce he grew.

He is survived by his mother, Florence Beckman, of Hettinger, ND; his daughter, Evonne (Steve) Provinzino and his grandchildren, Abbey and Drew, of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Sandy (Bob) Bauman, of Homeland, CA, Betty Hawley, Chicago, IL; brothers, Nick (Cindy) Beckman, Dumas, TX, Doug Beckman, Fresno, CA and Dean (Colleen) Beckman, Lacey, WA. Dick was preceded in death by his father, Albert Beckman.
