Margaret Loraine Armbruster, 74, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at her residence.

She was born March 2, 1932, in Rugby, N.D., the daughter of Carl H. and Gladys Irene (Lang) Beckman.

Margaret was raised in North Dakota and at the age of 16 she moved to Minnesota with her family. In 1949, she married Emil A. Krause and lived in Clarissa, Minn., until 1955, when they moved to Butte; they later divorced.

Margaret worked in various cafes and restaurants as a dishwasher, cook, and waitress until 1983. She enjoyed traveling, embroidering, crocheting and reading.

Margaret married Alvin Armbruster in 1985 in Whitehall and they have resided in Butte.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Gladys Beckman; brothers, Melvin and Herman; sister, Hester; grandson, Michael John Mynheir; and stepson, Robert Armbuster.

Margaret is survived by her husband, Alvin; sons and daughters-in-law, Walter and Nancy Krause of Elk River, Minn., Richard and Dona Krause, and Raymond Krause, all of Butte; daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Roger Dye of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Cynthia and Jerry Coffman of Pendleton, Ore., and Rita and Brian Birky of Missoula; brothers and sisters-in-law, Henry and Doris Beckman of Butte, Gordon and Carol Beckman of Bertha, Minn., Calvin Beckman of Butte, and Roy Beckman of Butte, and Darrel and Regina Beckman of Brooklyn Park, Minn.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and LaRoy Hammond of Townsend, Mable and Herb Gulsvig of Wadena, Minn., and Esther and Gerald Baron of Elk River. She is also survived her stepchildren, Betty Swindler of South Carolina, Sandy and Barney Gee, and Doris and Rodney Phillips, all of Seattle, and Judy Armbruster of Anaconda; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

At Margaret's request cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorials are suggested to the charity of the donor's choice.
