Ernest Roy Beckham was born Tuesday April 30, 1889 at Windsor and died on Monday March 6, 1978. He was 88years, 10 months and 6 days old at his death. He married Iva Hines, a school teacher,on December 24th, 1921 in Alachua County. I have a copy of his Marriage LIcense which shows his age as 32 and hers at 21 on their marriage date. They lived at Cedar key where she died of tuberculosis in Sept. of 1923 at her parents' home in MONTEOCHA . They were married almost 2 years. She is buried in Antioch Baptist Cemetery in Lacrosse, Alachua County Fl.. Her obituary and Pic are in FInd A Grave. Search for IVA HINES. Her Find A grave number is 53189769. It is unknown why she is buried under her maiden name and not Iva Hines Beckham. Her obituary from the paper shows her name as Beckham.
Ernest married second to Daisy Florence Baggett on February 7,1924. She was 15 years of age. Daisy was born August 8,1908 at Clearwater. Three children were born of this marriage.
Daisy worked as postmaster of the Post office of Windsor and later as an employee of the University of Florida in food service.
Daisy is buried in this same cemetery as well, but alongside Daniel Pless Cooey, her second husband. Pless was also employed at the University of Florida. He was a carpenter. Pless and Daisy had one child together.
