The funeral of the late Adam Becker,who was drowned at Willow Ford on the 4th, took place Sunday afternoon from the Hall of the Decatur TurnVerein. Goodman's band in uniform played a dirge in the hall when the coffin was placed in the hearse and conveyed to Greenwood cemetery for burial. Henry Metz read a biographical sketch and a memorial service at the grave. The funeral cortege included the band, about 130 Turners, employees at Mills & Harrys shop, farmers from near Booty and many citizens who had known the deceased.
