Lula Belle Becker

Lula Belle Becker 79, of Goreville, IL, formerly of Karnak and McLeansboro, IL, passed peacefully on Sunday, February 02, 2014 at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 where she will be buried beside her beloved husband Bob in Old Springer Cemetery near McLeansboro, IL.

Belle, as she was known by all, was born on September 24, 1934 to Grace Lucinda and Henry Story in Scale, KY. She married James Robert "Bob" Becker on December 29, 1964 in Joppa, IL. They enjoyed 47 years of marriage before his passing on April 2, 2010.

Belle enjoyed trail riding, gardening and mowing her yard. She loved her little dog Lucy and spending time with her family, especially at the holidays.

Belle is survived by three daughters, Theresa Blasdel of Joppa, IL, Pam Barnett and husband Jack of Goreville, IL, and Kathy Kind and husband Robert of Granite City, IL.

She is also survived by 1 sister, Dorothy Lewis of Karnak, IL; brothers, Norris Story of Joppa, IL, Frank King and wife Mary Jane of Beecher, IL, Jerry Story and wife Delores of Greenville, NY; step-siblings, Ethel Harvel of Joppa, IL, Jim King and wife Pearl of Metropolis, Bob King and wife Sharon of Metropolis, and Margaret Black and husband Tom of Villa Grove, IL; 10 grandchildren, Cindy Blasdel and Darren Blasdel of S. Pekin, IL, Tina Blasdel-Dawson and husband Doug of Marquette Heights, IL, Cheryl Walker, Amanda Peckinpaugh and husband Richard, and Jennifer Ashmore all of Marion, IL, Tate Wright and wife Rachel of Marion, IL, Ashley Barnett of Goreville, IL, Kelly Patrick and wife Rebecca of Grand Tower, IL, and Zane Patrick of Granite City, IL; 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Harl and Mona Weaver of McLeansboro, IL.

Belle is proceeded in death by her husband Bob Becker, mother Grace Lucinda Ford; father, Henry Story and step-father Ernest King; brothers, Moss E. Story, John D. Story, Carol A. "Popeye" Story, and Harley Lee "Bub" Story; and beloved son, Lindel Ray Blasdel.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2014 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with a funeral starting at 8 p.m. Rev. Jack Russell will officiate.
