On Monday, August 7, occurred the death of Mrs. Casper Becker, at the age of 83 years. The funeral was held on Thursday, August 10th, Rev. Father Raedler officiating, and the same was largely attended.

MRS. ANNA BECKER
Mrs. Anna Becker, nee Book, died at her home in Garnavillo, Ia., at two o'clock on Monday afternoon, August 7, 1911. Deceased was born in Lorup, Amt Heummling Province, Hanover, Germany, on February 18, 1828. She was 83 years, 5 months and 19 days at the time of her death, and the last of a family of four brothers and two sisters. Her husband preceded her in death fifteen years ago. She came to America in September 1856, and in July 1857, was united in married to Casper Becker at Cincinnati, Ohio, and shortly after came to Clayton county, where she has since resided with the exception of about seven years, which she spent at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. F. Meehan, near Rockwell, in Cerro Gordo county, Iowa. She was the mother of seven children and three step children. Those left to mourn the loss of a kind and loving mother are John, of Le Mars, Ia.; Henry, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Joseph, of Brandon, Manitobia; Rose, now Mrs. P. F. Meehan, of Rockwell, Ia., and Mary and Sarah, who were with her during the last three years of her life. She was stricken with paralysis four years ago which caused a lameness of her left side, making it almost impossible for her to wait upon herself, but she was a patient sufferer and bore her afflication without a murmur.
The funeral services on Thursday morning, Aug 10th, at 10 o'clock, were conducted by Father Raedler, at St. Joseph's Church, of which she was a devout member. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.
