BEAUMONT — John E. Becker, Sr., age 90 of Beaumont, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.
He was born July 26, 1919 to Jacob and Cora Friedel Becker in Port Arthur, Texas.
He was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School class of 1937.John served our country in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II. He retired from Gulf Oil Corporation after 40 years of service. John was a member of Providence Church. He was a life long resident of Jefferson County.
Funeral services will be on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel of Clayton Thompson with Rev. Beth Faulk officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Katherine Becker.
He is survived by his son, John E. Becker, Jr. of Beaumont, grandsons, Robert and wife Erin Becker and Michael Jeffery Becker both of Austin, granddaughters, Shelley and husband Jay Albrecht of Tyler and Leslie and husband Lee Johnson of Austin. He is also survived by his great grandchildren, Coda and Clove Becker, and Annabel Johnson all of Austin.
