**Flo was married to Bryce Barringer.
This couple was at every Bearcats game in the 1960s when their son, Dale, was on the team (class of 66). They even went to most out-of-town games. When it was snowy or foggy or rainy, sometimes the gyms would be almost empty of fans, but these two were almost always there. It was good to see at least two BHS (Brookland High School) fans when playing in a strange gym.
BHS had a great team for several years, with Norvell Beck as coach. All the team was seasoned. But my senior year, all the experienced players graduated. Our whole team had been on the benches, so we were new, even though we were seniors. We had a TERRIBLE year. I think we won two games. Beck took a second job with Foremost milk in Jonesboro and didn't work with us after school. But even though we were sure to lose, Bryce and Flow still showed up and cheered.
They would bring a couple of big Safeway grocery bags filled with popcorn and eat it during games. Flo carried a big purse. I guess they had big bottles of Coke.
**Information sent to me by a former BHS student.
