Early Life: Helen was born in American Fork, Utah, September 12, 1925, the daughter of Joseph Andrew and Bertha "Pearl" Anderson Olsen. As a child, she quickly learned the values of work and service that continued throughout her life. As a senior at Pleasant Grove High School, she worked as the school secretary until being called to the New England States Mission in 1946.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following her mission, Helen was asked by her mission president to return and help in the mission home for an additional year where she developed her passion and skills for cooking. She attended Brigham Young University and was employed by the Alpine School District where she worked for many years. In 1952, Helen married Keith Beck in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and established their home in Alpine. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in Primary, Relief Society, as a temple worker and as a scribe for many stake patriarchs including her husband, Keith. She was always willing to help and assist others in any way. Helen loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was welcoming and generous with her time and talents. She was a good friend and nurtured friendships that lasted throughout her life. Helen's enduring legacy is one of service, faithfulness and a lifelong dedication to the gospel of Jesus Christ. Helen loved her family and they will always love her and keep her close in their hearts. After living a life of selfless service and Christ-like example, Helen Lucille Olsen Beck passed away peacefully on June 10, 2014, at her home in Alpine, Utah.
Survived By: Her children: Jay L. (Martha) Beck, JaNae (Bruce) Parker and Mary Jo (Kevin) Matthews; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Keith; her brothers and sisters and grandson, Mark.
