Mr. Beck was born March 18, 1927, in Herrick, son of Ephriam James and Hazel G. Sanford Beck. He married Martha Mae Moister on Nov. 19, 1949, in Farmer City. She survives in Farmer City.
Also surviving are his children, Dan (Donna) Beck, Marsha (Kenneth) Peters, Patricia Meier and Susan (Dion) Lathrom, all of Farmer City; nine grandchildren, Josh (Tina) Beck, Rick (Kelly) Smith, Elaine Kendall, Dawn (Kevin) Hawkins, Joseph Meier, Tonya Meier, Dion Lathrom Jr., April Larhrom, and Amie Lathrom; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Lois) Beck, Cowden; one sister, Katie Rosemary Evans, Mesa, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Gladys Maxwell Beck; one brother, Lane Burl Beck; and two sisters, Virginia King and Madge Evans.
Joe and Martha worked side by side farming for 58 years and he loved his John Deere tractors. He was a World War II Army veteran and was a life member of the Fred G. O'Malley VFW Post 6190, Farmer City.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family.
