Lulu "Mae" Adkins, 61
Lulu "Mae" Adkins, 61, who resided at 328 West Silver St. in Bluffton, died at 6:10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, from injuries suffered in an auto accident on U.S. 33 in Auglaize County, Ohio, near Wapakoneta.
She was employed for the past 17 years as a receiving coordinator at Peyton's Northern in Bluffton and previously was a teacher's aide and secretary for 12 years at the Middle School in Montpelier, where she resided.
She was a 1958 graduate of Fort Recovery High School in Ohio and formerly attended the First United Methodist Church in Montpelier.
She was born in Jay County Sept. 11, 1940 to Paul Joseph and Letha Fern Abbott Bechtol. Her mother survives and resides at Howe, Ind.
Surviving, in addition to her mother, are a daughter, Mrs. Chuck (Lisha) Christman Jr. of Hartford City; two sons, Gunnery Sgt. Tim Adkins of the U.S. Marine Corps and stationed at Cherryhill, N.C., and Tech/Sgt. Rodney Adkins of the U.S. Air Force and stationed in Yokota Air Force Base in Japan; two brothers. Paul Edward Bechtol of Cookeville, Tenn., and Carl Bechtol of Fort Recovery, Ohio; two sisters, Nancy Steed of Redkey and Mrs. Harry (Linda) Ness of Manakin-Sabot, Va.; and eight grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glancy Funeral Homes, Walker Chapel, in Montpelier.
Cremation will follow the service.
Calling hours at the funeral chapel will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m.
