Mrs. Lola Hamner Beavers of Killen, Ala., passed away at home surrounded by family on Sunday, Sept. 24, 2000. She was 96 years old, born on Jan. 29, 1904, in Lauderdale County, Ala.
Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 25, from 6 until 9 p.m. at Greenhill Funeral Home, Hwy. 43, Killen. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 26, at 2 p.m. at the Greenhill Funeral Home. Burial will be at Antioch Church of Christ Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, George H. Beavers of Romulus, Mich., and eight daughters, Dorothy B. McGee, Killen, Ruth Hawn, Saltillo, Miss., Jessie B. Simpson, Killen, Laurie B. Johnson, Tullahoma, Tenn., Mary B. Grigsby, Florence, Ala., Ann B. Cooper, Killen, Frances B. Harrison, Killen, Margaret B. Allen, Florence; 20 grandchildren to whom she was known as "Mama Lola," 39 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Taft and F.H. Hamner Jr., two sisters, Eula H. Hamner and Frances McMullen.
Preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Hollie and Rebecca Williams Hamner, her husband, Bennie Price Beavers on Oct. 5, 1972, two brothers, Rob and Orin Hamner, three sisters, Mae Clemmons, Maggie Holden, Nellie Adderholt, one granddaughter, Wanda Jean Simpson, one grandson, Joseph Paul Johnson, two great-granddaughters, Margaret Allison West and Sierra Leona Alexander.
She was a member of the Stutts Road Church of Christ.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Hamner Reunion Building Fund in care of Herschel or Horace Hamner.
Pallbearers: Jimmy Beavers, Bennie Beavers, Jim Stiel, Larry Crittenden, Wade Taylor, Barry Alexander, Cooper Flippo and Jim Allison.
