Albert C. Beaver, age seventy-two, chief gateman at the State Fairgrounds Coliseum, will be buried in Crown Hill Cemetery following services to be held Thursday at 3 p.m. in Grinsteiner's Funeral Home. He died Sunday in his home on North Delaware Street after a brief illness.
He was known to thousands of sports fans, ice hockey players, boxers, wrestlers, and other athletes. He also was gateman for sports events at the National Guard Armory and the open-air Sports Arena. He was an American representative for sugar companies many years. Mr. Beaver was a member of Pentalpha Masonic Lodge, members of which will conduct services.
Survivors are the widow, Mrs. Myrtle Beaver, and a nephew, Charles A. Pierson, Los Angeles.
