Ralph M. “Buddy” Beaugez, Jr. passed away on August 10, 2015 at the VA Memorial Hospital in Biloxi, MS following a short illness.

Buddy was born in Ocean Springs on January 17, 1924 and lived there his entire life. He was a World War II Navy veteran who served in the South Pacific in 1944 to 1946. Upon his return from the war Buddy pursued his love of sports, briefly playing semi-pro football for the Biloxi Gales and minor league baseball in Bruton, Alabama. It was during this time he met the love of his life, Lois Mae Swansine of Biloxi, who he married in 1948.

Known by most as “Mr. Buddy”, he was actively involved in youth league sports and enjoyed playing golf and fishing whenever he could “sneak off”. Buddy attended St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where he was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is preceded in death by his father, Ralph M. Beaugez, Sr.; his mother, Mabel Matthews Wactor; and his wife, Lois.

He is survived by two grateful sons – Kirk Beaugez from Ocean Springs and Ralph (III) and Tanya Beaugez residing in Fort Worth, Texas - and one grandchild, Jessica Lauren Beaugez also from Fort Worth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2015 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Friends and family may visit 2 hours prior to the mass. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ocean Springs.

The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
