William Francis Brice, born 1830 in North Carolina, married Phoebe Alderman, born 1834, daughter of George and Nancy (Carlton) Alderman and granddaughter of Daniel Alderman of Duplin County, N. C. Their children: Timothy, Presley, Marcus, Eliza, Charles, Robert and Betty. Betty Brice (1866-1971) married John Beaty of Pavo. (see below) BETTY BRICE BEATY AND HER HUSBAND LIVED IN A LOG CABIN JUST OUTSIDE PAVO, GA., ON LAND THE BEATY FAMILY HAD OWNED SINCE ABOUT 1830. Their old house now sits empty, and is falling apart, but was still standing as of 2010. The land is still in the family. Betty Brice Beaty lived to be 105 YEARS OLD. She died in a "NURSING HOME", in MOULTRIE, Ga. 25 Sep 1971. I Stephen C. Beaty, saw her and several of her children a number of times over the years when my father took me to Pavo, to visit the family. Because his own father had died when he was only 3 years old, he grew up knowing his cousins very well. I can remember Hoke Smith Beaty very well. He died in 1989
