Sandra Louise Loskovitz Beatus, 76, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, avid Mah Jongg player, and Memphis's best chocolatier passed away Tuesday evening after a brave and well-fought battle with cancer. Known for her kindness, determination, and dedication, Sandra was a fixture within both the Memphis community and her family. She dedicated countless hours to helping others in need, ranging from volunteering at Temple Israel to tutoring and reading to children at the Wells Station School. Along with her two best friends, Sandra started Delectables Ltd., a popular candy and gift shop in Memphis that took the culinary world by storm for 18 years with their famous homemade fudge -- much to the delight of her sons and their friends. In addition to serving others, Sandra was the rock of her family. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, favorite aunt -- and the best den mother for Boy Scouts Pack 75, Den 4. She always knew what was best for her family, and as a result they are better individuals because of her. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, Nathan and Rena Loskovitz. She is remembered lovingly by her husband Dr. Benjamin Beatus, sons Dr. Mitchell Beatus and Todd Beatus, daughter-in-law Kirsten Plonner Beatus; sister, Myrna and brother-in-law Myron Thomas, brother Lewis and sister-in-law Debra Loskovitz, and grandchildren Cody Beatus and Ellie Beatus. Sandra's funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 31st, in the Levy-Cooper Chapel at Temple Israel Cemetery (1708 Hernando Road in Memphis, TN). In lieu of flowers, please donate in Sandra's name to the American Cancer Society, Temple Israel, or a charity of the donor's choice.
