Mrs. Sarah Jane (Jennie) Bacon, widow of Charles Bacon of Ringwood, died Friday at the Bowes Res Home in Dundee, after a long illness. She was 86 years of age.
The deceased was born in New York state on January 6, 1865, the daughter of Thomas and Mathilda Beatty. She had resided in the Ringwood community since childhood. She operated a boarding house there for many years.
Mrs. Bacon is survived by a son, George of Antioch; five grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren. Her husband, one sister, two brothers, and three children preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Monday afternoon from the Ehorn Funeral Home in Richmond with Rev. Wiliam Overend officiating. Burial was in Ringwood Cemetery.
