Funeral services for Bert BEATTY, 74, of 106 Mitchell St. in Benton, were Held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home in Benton. Burial was in the Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton. Mr. BEATTY, who died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in Veterans Administration Hospital in Marion, had been ill six months. Mr. BEATTY formerly owned and operated an auto parts store in Benton. He was a lifetime resident of Franklin County, a Navy veteran of World War II, and member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Masonic Lodge 64, all of Benton. He was born March 3, 1900, in Jackson County to George and Ida HOLDERFIELD BEATTY. Survivors are his wife, the former Beulah KNIGHT; two sons, Charles Bert BEATTY of Lake City, Fla., and Hall Eugene BEATTY of Monticello, Fla.; two brothers, Clyde and Robert BEATTY, both of Benton; three sisters, Jessie OWENS of Benton, Florine VESCONI [sic] of Silvis, and Winifred McKURTIS of Sierraville, Calif.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
