Dorothy (Bearden) Hutcheson (1927-2012)


Mrs. Dorothy Bearden Hutcheson, 85, passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 peacefully at her residence in Sherman, Texas with her family by her side. Mrs. Hutcheson was born on July 16, 1927 to Thomas Britton and Myrtle Isaac Britton. She married John. W. Bill Bearden on August 26, 1945. They were blessed with three children, son, Billy Don, and daughters Brenda and Betsy. Dorothy later married Joe Hutcheson who preceded her in death in 1990.

Mrs. Hutcheson graduated from Denison High School and was employed with Sherman Community Hospital. Later she owned and operated R&M used cars of Sherman. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the Sherman Elks lodge. She enjoyed traveling, Bingo and spending time with her family.

A graveside service for Mrs. Hutcheson will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at Fairview Cemetery in Denison, Texas with Jan Turner officiating. The family will greet friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on August 17, 2012 at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home in Denison, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her son, Billy Don Bearden in 2006, her parents Thomas and Myrtle Britton, her brothers, Otis Britton, Grady Britton, Raymond Britton, and her sisters, Imogene Britton, Edna May Cook and Virginia Wick.

She is survived by her two daughters, Brenday BJ Nieves of Sherman, and Betsy Caldwell of Sherman; grandchildren, Jason Sawyer of Sherman, Briget and David Hammer of Sherman, Kimber and Diego Morales of Sherman, John Bearden of Sherman, Gary Myers of Sherman, Bobby Myers of Denison and Stacy Myers of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Piper Bearden of Sherman, Izayah Morales of Sherman, and Lynsie Trevino of Sherman; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Grayson County Home Health for their wonderful care over the years and a special thank you to home hospice for their wonderful care and support of their mother and family.
