Elvis Bean, 45, of the Leonard community of Clay County, Tenn., died April 12, 2003, at the Macon County General Hospital in Lafayette, Tenn.
He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tenn. and had been an engineer for the former Bioten in Red Boilings Springs, Tenn., with five years of service.
Born in Smith County, Tenn., he was a son of the late Olin and Vera (Birdwell) Bean.
Survivors include a son, Allen Bean of the Leonard community; four sisters Arah Brummitt, Temple Terrace, Fla.; Judy Cherry, Hendersonville, Tenn.; Trudy Coons, Leonard community; and Dixie Graves, Linden, Tenn.; and two brothers, Dennis Bean, Richland, Wash., and Olin W. Bean, II, Red Boiling Springs.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on April 16 at the Leonard Church of Christ, with Roy Henson officiating. Burial was at the Leonard Cemetery.
Family members and friends served as pallbearers.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Phillip Anderson and Son Funeral Home, Red Boiling Springs.
