Beames, 85, of Dayton, Ohio, and formerly of East Meredith, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Ohio.Doris retired from the Stamford Central School District and was a member of the Charlotte Valley Presbyterian Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Beames; and son-in-law, James Jones Sr.Doris is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Linda Jones of Lakeland, Fla., and Eva and Paul Wren of Covington, Ohio; her sister, Jean Kelso of East Meredith; grandchildren and their spouses, Burton and Marsha Mattice of Covington, Ohio, Karrie and Tom Appleton of Canton, Ga., and James Jones Jr. of Lakeland, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Scarlett Mattice and Madelynne Appleton; devoted friend and caregiver, Ethelene DeFurr; many friends and loved ones at the Gables at Singing Woods; as well as numerous other relatives and lifetime friends.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2006, in the Charlotte Valley Presbyterian Church, East Meredith, with the Rev.
