Carey J. Beamer, 86, a resident of Arendtsville for the last 12 years, died Sunday evening at 6:10 o'clock at the home of a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Charles I. Cole, 115 Steinwehr Ave., of a coronary thrombosis. He had been in failing health for the last year and had been under the care of a physician. He had resided with the son-in-law and daughter for the last week.
A son of the late Peter M. and Jane (Warren) Beamer, he was a native of Adams County, a member of the Arendtsville Lutheran Church and of the Men's Bible Class of that church. He was a farmer and for many years a saw mill worker with Robert Eicholtz of Arendlsville.
His wife, the former Mary E. Cashman, died in 1948.
Surviving are eight children: Mrs. Charles I. Cole, Gettysburg; Mrs. Esther Shanebrook, Gettysburg; Mrs. George Smith, York: Mrs. C. E. Russell, Harrisburg; Paul A. Beamer, Arendtsville; Robert M. Beamer, Waynesboro; Clyde A. Beamer, Littleslown; Clair A. Beamer, Liltlestown; 16 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. George Becker, Mechanicsburg. and Mrs. John Black. Elkton, Md.
Funeral services Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville. with the Rev. Maynard Jarnhart Jr. officiating. Internent in Greenmount Cemetery. Arendtsville.
