Blanche D. Beamer, 83, of Hanover, died at 10 a.m. Saturday at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. She was the wife of the late George W. Beamer.
Mrs. Beamer was born April 24, 1918, in Hunterstown, Adams County. She was the daughter of the late Luther H. and Naomi (Shanebrook) Decker.
She worked at Hanover House Industries in Hanover, retiring in 1981 after 25 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's Dorcas circle. She was a 1935 graduate of New Oxford High School.
Mrs. Beamer is survived by three sons, Philip G. Beamer of Newport, Gerald W. Beamer of Cumberland, Wis., and Richard L. Beamer of McSherrystown; a daughter, Denise K. Beamer of Hanover; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Charles Decker of Brushtown; and seven sisters, Jean Myers of York, Florence Lawrence, Betty Kline and Elsie Kepner, all of New Oxford, Mildred Klunk of Edgegrove, Mary Hufnagle of Brushtown and Shirley Kulynych of Thomasville.
The service will be 8 p.m. Thursday at the Wetzel Funeral Home, 549 Carlisle St., Hanover. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in The Pines Church Cemetery, New Chester.
