Mary "Beth" Upshaw Beaman, 63 years old, was the daughter of the late Raymond Hardee Upshaw and Lillian Patterson Upshaw of Farmerville, LA. Beth was born in Monroe, LA. and graduated from Farmerville High in 1969, where she was a majorette, and Northeast Louisiana University in 1973. Beth and Ray met while she was a summer missionary in New Orleans in 1971. They married in 1973 and moved to New Orleans in 1974. She worked in various food service positions for Orleans Parish Schools until her children arrived. The couple had two daughters, Sara came in 1981 and Anna in 1984. For several years Beth served as Church Hostess and later volunteered in the nursery at Metairie Baptist Church. A Hodgkin's disease survivor since her early 20's, Beth overcame numerous physical challenges to provide a Christian home for her family. Beth was devoted to her two grandsons and enjoyed her family, friends, church, movies, music, reading and dining out. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Ray Beaman Jr., her daughters Sara Rae Beaman and Anna Elizabeth Pfeffer, her grandsons Timothy R. Martinez and Aiden A. Pfeffer and her sister Linda Upshaw James of Monroe, LA. She is also survived by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of Farmerville, on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM
