Chapel services for Ammon R. Beam, 87, of Tyler, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 2008, at Tyler Memorial Funeral Home with Ward Livingston officiating. Interment will follow in Tyler Memorial Park.

Mr. Beam was born March 26, 1921, in Guntersville, Ala., to the late Robert and Letha Hedricks Beam, and passed away Sept. 23, 2008, in Tyler, Texas. He lived in the Tyler area most of his life, worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator, served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Mr. Beam is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Beam; and a sister, Roetta Beam. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Beam of Tyler; a stepdaughter, Sherry Mayo Mabry and husband William of Whitehouse; stepson, Barry Mayo of Tyler; daughter-in-law, Teresa Beam of Whitehouse; grandchildren, Jessica Beam Salinas of Tyler, Justin Beam of Tyler, Micky Beam and wife Scottie of Round Rock, Lynette Arnett and husband Curtis McKee of Lancaster, Ricky Beam of CooksviIle, Tenn., and Anthony "Tony" Beam of Bullard; great-grandchildren, Jaime Gore, Anthony Salinas, Tony Beam, Anthony Beam III, Mark Beam and Conner McKee; and a sister, Odetta Bolton.

Pallbearers will be Layton Marshall, Butch Beck, Steve Dyer, Johnny George, Isaiah Gutierrez and Justin Beam.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
