Velma - BOBBY JOE BEAM, 76, of Velma, died Saturday, April 12, 2008, in Rush Springs.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Loco Cemetery, with the Rev. Carroll Milner officiating. Interment will be under direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
He was born Feb. 22, 1932, in Comanche, to James H. and Susie Williams Beam. He married Bernice Null on July 15, 1954, and she preceded him in death in July of 1986.
He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, serving in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a machinist and owned and operated Bob's Machine Shop in Velma, retiring in 2007.
He enjoyed fishing, camping, riding motorcycles, and the outdoors. He was actively involved in the Velma community. He was a member of Countryside Baptist Church in Velma.
Survivors include two daughters, Anita Jo Watson of Ardmore, and Lisa Dawn Walters and husband Rick of Rush Springs; two sons, James H. Beam of Ratliff City, and Keith Beam and his wife Lynne of Farmington, N.M.; a sister, Lynn Williams of Duncan; a brother, Don Beam of Euless, Texas; nine grandchildren, Amy Yadon, Lacey Watson, Billy Watson, Kyle Beam, Jamie Beam, Kelsey Walters, Colt Walters, Danny Stewart and Walt Stewart; and two great-grandchildren, Cameron Yadon and Devon Watson.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Buck Beam, in 2006.
Bearers will be Billy Earl Thacker, John Saville, Jack Thacker, Glenn Bethany, Harold Darity and Bob McKelvain.
